RESIDENTIAL

What we do

I provide independent solar consulting and advisory services related to your upcoming residential solar project.  Being independent I am are not associated with any one solar company. I have relationships with other solar professionals to help out if the project begins to get complex.

Getting Started

Solar company proposals are many times confusing and ambiguous with the intent of selling you their systems at the highest price possible.  They may also offer “no cost” installation for you in exchange for your monthly payment for electricity for a lengthy period of time. This payment is usually less than your current electric bill making it an enticing decision.

I help you understand proposals received and examine the total cost of each proposal or choice of different purchase options as well as pointing out potential landmines.

While I do not offer technical advice I do point out areas that could be problematic. Case in point, a client had two very comparative proposals and was torn between the two. However, they both offered comparable “great” warranties. The problem was that they both were 10 years less than most other solar contractors which is an indication of substandard materials. Another example is the type of inverters proposed with the known partial tree shade which would reduce solar production by more than 30%.  These are things I’ve learned from reviewing many proposals. Again, I was not offering technical advice, I was simply pointing out things that needed further review.

Independent Solar Advisor

I am an independent solar advisor offering my residential services at no charge for the first visit. If addition time or services are needed the cost and timing will be discussed and agreed upon before proceeding.  If extended services are requested, I’ll discuss with you the nature and timing of those services and with the estimated fee.

As an independent solar consultant I am not affiliated with any one solar contractor.
